Blood for Life, an award-winning NGO, was formed in 2010 to focus on educating and encouraging blood donations within the African and Caribbean communities. Recognizing the disparity in blood donation rates and the unique challenges faced by these communities, Blood for Life spearheaded initiatives to address both the shortage of blood donors and the misconceptions surrounding blood donation.

 

Blood for Life had 2 main objectives; (1) Raise awareness of the need for more black blood and organ donors (2) Support blood transfusion in low income countries through donation and maintenance of medical equipment and training.

 

Blood for Life have worked closely on various projects in partnership with institutions, government and non-government agencies, in Africa and the Caribbean supporting to establish an effective and sustainable blood bank.

 

Blood for Life have equipped institutions (hospitals and Medical schools) through it's equipment donation programme and build capacity through it's educational programme. Blood for Life successfully provided opportunities for health professionals, charities and the community to exchange ideas and educate on health issues.

 

The Blood for Life initiative has grown gaining recognition for its impactful and targeted approach to increasing donations among diverse populations and supporting blood banks in lower income countries

 

Blood for Life continue to work tirelessly to reduce health inequalities and share knowledge, skills and experience across institutions and cultures.
